The Educational Series

Our Educational series offers some insight on the many types of errors and varieties that are out there.

We try to educate the collector on what are varieties and what they look like. many people often confuse the worthless machine damage coins thinking they are a doubled die or a RPM. We offer some articles that we hope will shed some light on the differences. So articles even have a “test” your knowledge within the article to help people see the differences between a doubled die and machine damage. Listed below are just a few articles in the Educational series.

We try to keep our prices very competitive but, in the end the reliable sources we get these errors from are drying up. Major errors are getting more difficult to find. We also have a trend of new collectors in this hobby and prices for most errors and varieties continue to increase.

Since 2003, the US Mint has tightened down the quality assurance and quality control methods. Errors are typically not “escaping” the US Mint like they did before the year 2000. Robots, lasers, “The Riddler” and other processes are in place to keep the error coins from getting into the hands of the collector.

We hope this new layout will make it a bit easier to navigate. Please let us know what you think of the layout. Our email address is in the photo at the bottom of this post.
