Awesome Mint Errors from China

I recently had the privilege to photograph a few Mint Errors from China. A friend is an avid World Coin Overdate collector, but he can’t refuse to pick up some awesome doubled dies or mint errors.

This article will show a mint errors from China and a variety as well.

The first mint error from China is a 10 Cash. It shows mint errors on both side of the coin in the form of a major die break.

The first photo below shows a die crack at the rim at the K7 ( 7 o’clock) position, it heads toward the lower center of the coin. it then ends up at the rim at the K3 (3 o’clock) position.

The other side of the coin shows a die crack running from about K9 to about K4. Its pretty impressive that this mint error from China did not just fall apart due to these dramatic die cracks.

An awesome variety from China – 1919 20 Cash Doubled die

While the mint errors from China are impressive, he also had an awesome variety. The coin below is variety from China. This is a 20 Cash. These doubled dies are varieties. This means the issue is with the working dies. The working dies have more than one image on them which means the working dies can then duplicate these coins.

Here are some specifics:

  • The year the coin was produced was 1919.
  • The issuing regime is the Republic of China.
  • The denomination is 20 Cash.
  • The Composition is Copper.
  • The coin weight is 9.45g in uncirculated condition.
  • The diameter of the coin is 32mm
